Introduction: Principles & Application
When I reflected on my learning and revisited my assignments, I found that educators and technology - how we use technology to teach in various times and places - is a persistent theme. As a reflective practitioner, investigating how we can change pedagogy to integrate technology in transformative ways, and redefine pedagogy, is essential to improving my own practice. I have chosen this topic because my ambition is to use my knowledge to encourage innovative technology use wherever I go, and to become a better leader and teacher.
Learning principles and technology have implications for teaching and learning. Technology can be both the content and the delivery method of professional development. Adult learning principles play a role in the design and delivery of training.
In this section I discuss adult learning principals as a starting point for exploring avenues of teacher training for effectively integrated technology use, and look at how to train teachers in technology and encourage subsequent change in their teaching practice, ideally resulting in better integration of technology in their teaching. Some themes from my artifacts include change models, context, professional development, and andragogy.
